The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has decided to hold the board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 for important subjects only considering the prevailing Covid-19 situation across the state, however, the board has not set any schedule yet.
Earlier, the TBSE had postponed both Class 10 and Class 12 board exams which were scheduled to be conducted from 18 May 2021 and 19 May 2021, respectively, due to an increase in the Covid-19 cases.
“Due to the pandemic situation, it is not possible to take examinations in all subjects, and we have decided to hold examinations in three subjects only for Class 10 and some subjects of Class 12. We are likely to take a decision in this regard in June,” said Dr. Bhabatosh Saha, President of TBSE.
“So far, examinations for English, Mathematics, and Science subjects are expected to be held for Class 10, however, no such decision has been taken yet regarding the selected papers for Class 12,” added Saha.
For Class 10 examinations, a total of 26,610 candidates are to appear, and for Class 12 examinations, a total of 27,205 candidates are expected to appear.
This year due to the pandemic, all the other school examinations including physical classes in all the educational institutions were postponed.
Last year, the board exams for 10 and 12 were postponed twice due to a surge in Covid-19 cases.
