As part of taking the campaign forward, RTSOI will now be releasing a series of short videos of people from different walks of life endorsing the campaign and value of Responsible Travel to the society at large and the domestic travellers.
According to a senior leader of the Society, the plan is to release videos of 30 to 40 sec duration where celebrities, leaders, influencers, activists, artists, etc. will be endorsing the Responsible Travellers campaign. He said that the plan is to launch at least a video a week for next couple of years to generate awareness about Responsible travel.
Meanwhile, RTSOI wants the Ministry of Tourism to take the campaign forward through all national channels to sensitise people about responsible and sustainable travel. A senior member said that the Ministry of Tourism has approved the guidelines and given the stamp of approval to the society.
The RTSOI Responsible Traveller guidelines stipulates different ways with which a traveller can remain responsible to the planet even while travelling for leisure. While planning, the guideline asks travellers to give preference to companies which practice responsible travel, including accommodation units which follow responsible tourism practices. It is important people select the right transport while travelling which helps offset carbon. Learn to travel light and dispose of waste responsibly. The RTSOI guidelines advise travellers to eat local and shop local and cut down on waste.
